July 2024 – What We’ve Been Up To

Running in the Sun and Running Late for the Cinema

July has been a busy month, and I’ve been setting up a lot of new and exciting campaigns for clients across Google Ads, Meta Ads, and LinkedIn Ads!

July began with some amazing news, as it’s been three months since I joined Twilo. I’m happy to announce that I have passed my first 12-week period, so I will be staying! It’s also been great to welcome my new colleagues and treat ourselves to some pizza for lunch.

Outside of work, it’s been tough but fun to get ready for the new football season with preseason training and friendlies. Despite the heat, it was a big 7-0 win for my team last weekend, where I played the full 90 minutes and grabbed an assist for our 5th goal. I also saw one of the big films of the summer—Twisters. I really enjoyed it, despite getting there just as the film began, as my dog decided to sunbath in some grass whilst on his walk. As you can see in the image, he knew exactly what he was doing!

July Blog

July has been an exciting month for me. I’ve been down to see old friends that I have not seen in a long while, and I’ve been accepted for my mortgage! Just need to get past the long wait for paperwork.

I’ve been working on some exciting projects, and I am particularly excited to work with White Rose Finance again to bring them another financial journey to their broker application.

Integrating AWS with OpenCart

This month, we’ve been working on an AWS solution for OpenCart that will allow us to keep images on the cloud for when clients need big e-commerce solutions with thousands of products. It has been very challenging, but it will be an extremely valuable addition to future e-commerce websites we build in the future that require it.

Day enjoying the sun

To finish off the month right, I travelled down to Nuneaton for a BBQ on the Saturday. We had the hot tub out, and for once, the sun was on our side. The food included was the traditional sausages and burgers but also pork belly and chicken skewers. My friend thought he had overbought on the pork belly, but they went down extremely quickly. We then ended with some simple card games, one of which was Unstable Unicorns. This is a very silly game where the goal is to get six unicorns in your stable, and there are many cards that allow you to kill or steal your opponent’s unicorns or give buffs to yours.

Exploring New Plugins and Creating Seamless User Experiences

This month, I’ve been thrilled to work on designing Trianco’s website, exploring new plugins, and creating a seamless user experience and interface. I’m also excited about collaborating with an enthusiastic client who shares my design vision. Weekends have been a joy, filled with playtime with my two-year-old and grocery runs. Looking ahead, I can’t wait to reunite with an old school friend this coming weekend.

July has been a blend of professional satisfaction and personal joy, and I look forward to more adventures in August.
